Andrew Morrison

Andrew’s career is a reflection of his deep commitment to the academic, social and life success of our nation’s most vulnerable students. For more than 20 years, he has led, advised and invested in organizations serving students who traditionally have not thrived in school and who are grappling with the effects of extreme poverty, insecurity, learning impairments or other hardships that can affect students’ self-esteem, opportunities and academic and life trajectories.

Andrew brings deep and broad industry expertise to the work, having served as CEO of various education technology and education services companies in the areas of language and literacy development; professional development and educator effectiveness; contract schools in partnership with urban public school districts; and special education for students with a broad range of physical, emotional or cognitive disabilities. He also has served as an advisor to other education leaders and to industry investors.

Quentin Mumphery

Pastor Mumphery is the Founder and Senior Pastor of New Hope Covenant Church on the southeast side of Chicago. Pastor Mumphery has a passion for training, equipping and educating emerging leaders – having supported the development of more than 100 ministers over the last decade.

Pastor Mumphery is also adjunct instructor for North Park University, and has nearly two decades of experience working in the field of education – having held leadership positions with the Chicago Public Schools, Camelot Education, and North Park University. He has also previously developed college-readiness programming for low-income, students and families with a 100% acceptance rate for students into four-year colleges and universities.

Pastor Mumphery a graduate of Whitney M. Young Magnet H.S and the University of Illinois at Chicago. He also received his Master’s degree from North Park Theological Seminary. His passion for leadership, education, and civic engagement has also led him to serve in a volunteer capacity with numerous civil rights and non-profit organizations, such as Rainbow PUSH, the Chicago Urban League, Acts of Love, and numerous others.

Karen Niemi

Karen leads the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL), the world’s leading nonprofit organization dedicated to helping to make social and emotional learning an integral part of American education. She previously led ScholarCentric, provider of SEL assessment, curriculum and professional development, and Cognitive Concepts, a top provider of technology-based reading interventions and staff development. Karen is a former speech language pathologist.
